App Features

On activation i am Safe will immediately -

• Send an incoming call ringtone to
  your iPhone, which may avert the
  potential incident,
• Compute your position on the map,
• Register the date and time of
  the incident,
• Send a pre-worded PANIC e-mail
  to five nominated contacts from
  your contact list,
• Send up to five SMS messages to
  your nominated contacts,
• Attach a web-link to your e-mail's
  navigating to the i am Safe
  incident page,
• Allow your contacts to monitor
  your position and listen to audio
  recordings in real-time,
• Continuously record the incident
  and save the recording for future
  reference on the server.
• Sending SMSs attracts a charge which is paid by i am Safe. The first TWO credits, each of which contain up to FIVE SMSs are included in the initial price. Subsequent credits need to be purchased through the App, on the Recharge page.

App Tour

SETTINGS You must enter your details to set-up your profile and enable you to log-in; Once you have logged-in, we suggest you DO NOT log out. You never know when you will need to use iamSafe in a REAL emergency and you don't want to go through the log-in process at that time; You should also enter your nominated contacts and their details here; Don't forget to include the 'International Dialing Code' prefix for ALL phone numbers you enter. This is critical to successfully send your Alert messages; Your contacts will be alerted by SMS. All your contacts will receive an email in addition to the SMS; The email will contain a link to a map showing your position at the time of the emergency alert and will instruct your contact to navigate to it; Your position will be continuously monitored and recorded, until you exit the App; An audio file of everything happening around you at this time can be saved for future reference. You have the option of turning this feature ON in iPhone General Settings, if you wish. ALERT On launching the App you will come straight to the Alert screen and your 'personal safety strategy' is now activated; You can cancel the Alert at any time using the red slide button; If you don't cancel at the end of the initial countdown timer, (you can set this anywhere between 2 & 5 seconds) a ringtone will be sent to your phone; Your position has now been calculated and you will be presented with a secondary fail-safe countdown timer; (also variable between 8 & 25 seconds) You can still cancel the Alert with the red slide button; At the end of the secondary countdown timer, if you haven't already cancelled - Your Alert SMSs + emails will be sent to your nominated contacts, Your position will be continuously recorded, (until you exit the App) If this feature is turned on, an audio file will be generated recording everything happening around you and stored, A message on the screen will flash "This event is being MONITORED"; If you have previously cancelled the Alert, you can re-activate it with the green slide button and you will go back to step. 3; Use the Alert mode only when you really have to, (an ACTUAL emergency) because once you have you must purchase additional credits (Recharge screen) so you can send SMSs for another Alert when required; Each credit enables you to send up to 5 SMSs to your nominated contacts; If you want to TEST or play with the App, then do it in the Test screen. TEST In the Test screen, you can play with the App as much as you wish, without using up your credits; This is because in Test mode, only emails (no SMSs) are sent to your nominated contacts; To test, use the green slide button - Emails will be sent to your nominated contacts; Your position will be continuously recorded; (until you exit the App) If this feature is turned on, an audio file will be generated recording everything happening around you and stored. RECHARGE In the Recharge screen, you can purchase credits from the iTunes Store. Prices are shown in your local currency, depending on which country iTunes Store you are logged in to; (example is Australian Store) Make a selection. The base price is - 1 credit - US$ 2, 5 credits - US$ 8, 10 credits - US$ 14, 20 credits - US$ 24; Use the green slide button to make your purchase; Each credit allows you to send up to 5 SMSs to your nominated contacts.
